Kenwood

Kenwood is a settled residential neighborhood in Fort Walton Beach, one of the areas that filled in as the city expanded around Eglin Air Force Base through the second half of the last century.

Housing is principally single-family homes on well-sized lots, with a good deal of variation in age and condition — some original, some substantially renovated. Mature landscaping and quiet streets give the neighborhood a settled character, and the lot sizes are generous by current standards.

Kenwood works well for buyers who want a conventional family home with a yard, close to schools, shopping and the base, without paying a coastal premium. The Gulf beaches are a short drive over the bridge, and Destin is around half an hour east along 98.
