Hammock Bay

Hammock Bay is the large master-planned community in Freeport, on the north side of Choctawhatchee Bay. It has become one of the main answers to a question a lot of buyers on this coast end up asking: how do you get a new house, a real yard and a full amenity package without a beachfront budget?

Homes are almost all newer construction across a wide range of plans and builders, from cottages to substantial family houses. The amenity programme is unusually deep for the area — multiple pools, a fitness centre, sports courts, event lawn, trails and a calendar of community events — and there is a genuine year-round community here rather than a seasonal one.

Freeport has grown quickly, and Hammock Bay is a large part of why. The bridge puts Santa Rosa Beach and 30A around twenty minutes south, with Niceville and Fort Walton Beach west along 20. It suits families, remote workers and retirees who want value and space.
